Direct flights to Exeter can often be quite expensive. Bristol will be the next nearest to TRTM and nearest well-connected airport for Exeter.  If flying to Bristol, it will take about 40 min to get from the airport to Bristol Temple Meads railway station.  From the latter, it is about an hour by train to Exeter, with Exeter St David’s being the main station (from where a taxi will take you almost anywhere you like in Exeter within about 10 min).  London Heathrow is another reasonable option, albeit it will take longer (and more expensive) to travel to Exeter, either by train or coach.

Mercure Rougemont hotel is located right opposite “Exeter Central” railway station: you can go there by train from Exeter St David’s station. Yet, likely you will have to wait for the connection longer than it will a walk between the two stations would take (albeit it is uphill from St David’s to the Central station), leave alone a taxi.

If arriving on Monday, note that Exeter St David’s station is quite close to the conference venue, and so, consider heading to the venue first and then checking-in at the hotel in the evening.
