Both oral and poster sessions will take place in the Woodbridge Room.

Talks

  • Speakers are expected to use their own laptops to present their talks.
  • The presentation screen is equipped with an HDMI cable, and so, speakers must either use a laptop with an HDMI port, or ensure they bring a suitable adaptor. 
  • For a backup, speakers may either send a copy of their presentation to the secretary or bring it on a USB drive.
  • The talks are recommended to have the following structure:
  1. an in-depth report of a recent discovery – 10 min for the background and motivation, 25 min for the speaker’s novel results, 15 min for the discussion, impact and outlook, 10 min for questions;
  2. a topical tutorial – 5 min for the background and motivation, 20 min for the basics, 20 min for the advanced material and recent results, 5 min for the outlook, 10 min for questions.

Posters

  • Posters should be prepared no larger than A0 in size, in a portrait format.
  • Presenters are advised to mount their posters on the poster boards provided as soon as possible (e.g. on Monday morning) and leave them on for the duration of the conference. 

Poster pitches

  • These will be given from 16:30-17:30, just before the poster session.
  • The presenters should aim for up to 4-5 minutes, with the exact limit to be communicated later.
  • To speed up the process, the presenters should send a copy of their slides to the secretary before the start of the conference.

Audience feedback

  • The electronic voting forms for casting your commendations for posters will be circulated by email on or before Monday, 3 June, with the voting deadline of 18:00 on Thursday, 6 June, and the results announced at the “Awards, feedback, and conference closing” ceremony on Friday, 7 June 2024.
  • The electronic voting forms for casting your commendations for talks will be circulated by email on Friday, 7 June, with the voting deadline of 18:00 on Wednesday, 12 June 2024, and the results announced by email a few days later.
